Your first experience as a diver
PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) is the perfect way to start your scuba diving journey in Lanzarote. This all-inclusive program requires no previous experience or technical knowledge — just the curiosity to breathe underwater and be amazed.
Your instructor takes care of every step, from the equipment to the guidance underwater. You simply relax and enjoy your first dive in a safe, fun, and fully guided environment.
During the initial briefing, you learn the basic principles of scuba diving before entering the water. We start the try dive in the protected area of Playa Chica, practicing in shallow water to build confidence.
You’ll enjoy one or two real open-water dives, with the option to reach depths of up to 6–12 meters. Each try dive typically lasts up to 45 minutes, adapted to your comfort level and air consumption so you can fully enjoy the experience.

We want your Try Dive to be more than just an activity — we want it to feel like pure freedom underwater. At Playa Chica, our favorite spot in Puerto del Carmen, you’ll experience your very first dive with complete confidence and peace of mind.
This unique location offers easy access from the shore or via steps, as well as a shallow area that opens up into a breathtaking underwater landscape. Submerged volcanic formations, routes suitable for all levels, and a protected bay with calm, crystal-clear waters await you.
Your first dive in paradise
As you breathe underwater for the first time, you’ll find yourself surrounded by schools of colorful fish, vibrant marine life, and a magical setting that feels like a natural aquarium.
No prior experience is required. Our Try Dives in Lanzarote are designed for complete beginners as well as for those who may have tried diving before but are not certified.
The minimum age is usually 10 years. We adapt the experience to the age and comfort level of each participant. Children aged 8–9 years can take part in the PADI Bubblemaker program, with smaller groups and reduced depth.
Yes. Safety is our top priority. Our experienced instructors guide you step by step, starting in calm, shallow water before going deeper.
Basic swimming skills are recommended, but you do not need to be an expert swimmer to participate in a Try Dive.
Yes. Non-certified divers can dive at the museum. As the Museo Atlántico is accessed by boat and requires a depth of 12 meters, we first conduct a Try Dive from the shore at Playa Chica. This allows the instructor to teach the basic skills and assess your comfort before the second dive at the museum.
No. We enter the water directly from Playa Chica beach. A boat is only required for dives at the Museo Atlántico.
Yes, some parts of the Discover Scuba Diving must be repeated. Even if you have dived before, without certification we must follow diving organization standards and local regulations. The instructor starts with the safety briefing and skill practice in shallow water to ensure you are prepared and safe. Regardless of previous experience, the maximum depth for non-certified divers is 12 meters.
We begin in shallow water where you can stand and get comfortable with the equipment. For non-certified divers, the worldwide maximum depth is 12 meters, reached only after successfully completing the initial skill practice. This ensures your safety while you enjoy the underwater world.
Some medical conditions — such as heart, lung, or ear issues, recent surgeries, or prescribed medication — may require medical clearance. If you have any pre-existing condition, we recommend contacting us before booking.
Your instructor explains the basic principles of scuba diving, how to use the equipment, and the essential safety rules in a clear and easy-to-understand way. We also recommend completing the optional PADI eLearning before your experience.
The full experience lasts approximately 1.5–2 hours (VIP: 3.5–4 hours), including the introductory briefing, equipment setup, and the dive itself (around 45 minutes underwater).
Yes. Thanks to Lanzarote’s climate, diving is possible all year round. During high season, availability can fill up quickly, so advance booking is recommended.
