Live your vocation: become a PADI Instructor through the IDC program
If scuba diving is your passion and you dream of turning it into a professional career, this is your path.
As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, you can work anywhere in the world. Teaching diving is not just about sharing techniques — it’s about transmitting passion, leading groups, and becoming a trusted reference underwater.
What’s included in the PADI Instructor course?
During the Instructor Development Course (IDC), you’ll be trained in every key aspect required to become a complete and confident instructor:
Theoretical training:
PADI standards &, philosophy, dive theory, course planning, leadership development, and risk management.
Practical training:
Teaching in the classroom, confined water, and open water. You’ll practice rescue skills, safety procedures, and water skills.
Assessments:
Practical workshops and exams to ensure you master both the technical and teaching aspects.
After completing the IDC, you’ll take the Instructor Examination (IE) — an independent evaluation that certifies your professional level and qualifies you to teach all PADI courses, from Open Water Diver to Divemaster.
